Suzanne L. Stricker, LAc
I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Upon completing high school, I traveled to Olympia, Washington to attend Evergreen State College. I studied environmental science and completed my Bachelors of Science degree in 2002. Following graduation, I worked for the U.S. Forest Service for several years. I conducted plant species surveys throughout Washington State, Oregon
and Northern California.
Feeling the need to serve the community more directly, I shifted my focus to medicine. I studied nursing at South Puget Sound Community College and received my nursing assistant certification in 2004. I worked at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Around this time, my father began to visit an acupuncturist. Seeing his success with Chinese medicine, I decided that this was something I wanted to learn more about. In 2005, I moved to Boulder, Colorado and began my studies at the Southwest Acupuncture College.
While at S.W.A.C., I had many opportunities to practice Chinese Medicine in the school’s in-house clinic. Through experiences in these clinics, all with different focuses, I became passionate about acupuncture for women’s health. I started my practice in Boulder specializing in OB-GYN.
